Combat Capacity of the Russian Army has more than doubled since 2012

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the combat capacity of the Russian Armed Forces has more than doubled since 2012, allowing the preservation of strategic parity with NATO.

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said, during a meeting with the Federation Council (the Supreme Council of the Russian Parliament), today, Wednesday: “By 2020, the combat potential of the armed forces has more than doubled, which has allowed the preservation of strategic parity with NATO amid increasing military threats.”

The relations between Russia and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) have been experiencing lately, tensions due to the increase in the military presence of the alliance near the Russian borders, which is considered by Moscow as a violation of the basic document of relations with the alliance.
