The Kremlin confirmed that, based on an agreement between Russian Presidents Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, Moscow and Washington continue to discuss practical cooperation between the two countries in combating the Corona epidemic.
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed to reporters today, Tuesday, that Trump and Putin talked about Russian medical assistance to the United States during a phone call between them on Monday, as “they indicated the importance of international cooperation” in the field of dealing with the Corona virus.
He added, “Based on agreements between the two presidents, the practical aspects of this issue will continue to be discussed at the level of specialists.”
Trump said yesterday that Russia had sent a plane loaded with medical supplies to the American states to help deter the spread of the Corona epidemic in the country.
Peskov described the conversation initiated by the US President as “rich, prolonged and very constructive”, and witnessed “a detailed exchange of information on the measures taken by our countries in the framework of combating the Corona virus.”
Peskov stressed that none of the countries in the world was prepared, and even could not, be prepared for an outbreak of an infection like the current Corona virus epidemic.
He added that no health care system in the world can go through this difficult period without facing extremely dangerous difficulties.
