The Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, and Macron discuss cooperation against Corona

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron discussed over the phone the Corona epidemic, and joint efforts to confront the virus.

The Kremlin said in a statement that the conversation between Putin and Macron took place today, Thursday, before the start of the G20 summit.

The statement added that the two presidents “exchanged views on the global situation against the background of the spread of the Corona pandemic, and discussed measures imposed in Russia and France and ways to confront this epidemic and reduce its negative social and economic consequences.”

Putin and Macron confirmed their intention to continue coordination in the joint fight against the virus, especially with regard to the return of Russian and French citizens to their countries and to provide conditions for the transfer of the required medical equipment and supplies.

The two sides also discussed “possible cooperation within the framework of the UN Security Council” and the situation in Syria and Libya, and agreed to continue contacts at various levels.
